Intimacy

Direction

Alessandra has always had a passion for finding how advocacy, sustainability, and creativity come together— and has found that intersection in intimacy direction. She was recently a member of IDC’s inaugural Level Three certification training cohort for Intimacy Direction, and is currently on their certification track. As an intimacy director her work has been seen at theaters such as the Guthrie, Park Square, Minnesota Opera, and University of Minnesota, amongst others.

She brings a deep love of collaboration and play to everything she does, and her background as an actor with focuses in both heightened texts and physical storytelling allow her to find many ways to connect with actors and stage intimacy. She continues to work and train as a fight professional, often assisting or directing fights in addition to intimacy directing.

Alessandra believes in facilitating spaces where clear communication and boundaries allows artists to go deeper into the work. As an intimacy professional she feels lit up by the crunchy places where we so often grow, helping artists cultivate their own embodied consent practices, and staging joyful queer intimacy.

Alessandra was an essential part of our rehearsal process. She empowered our actors to do their best work and made the often-awkward intimacy rehearsals fun, productive, and safe for all. I can’t wait to work with her again.
